Maison Beaufort — Your Holiday Home in the South of France

The House

Maison Beaufort is a newly restored 19th Century home in a small village in the south of France. This unique holiday home is nestled beneath a 12th century chateau in Beaufort, a quintessentially French village surrounded by the famed vineyards of Languedoc.

Like a typical village house, the back faces the street while the windows look out onto a sunbathed garden, and a view of the vineyards with the Pyrenees beyond.

Three large bedrooms can easily accommodate six people in this comfortable house. There are two and a half baths,  a spacious kitchen and living area, and a lovely kidney-shaped swimming pool outside.

The main level offers a kitchen, dining and conversation in a cosy but spacious living area opening to the garden.  Several inspired cooks will be able to work together in the well-equipped kitchen - and meals are often the focus of a French holiday - but it will be harder to decide where to eat!  Will it be indoors at the harvest table, outside under the grape arbour, in the garden, or around the pool ..?

The master bedroom suite is set privately off to one side of the main level, with glass doors to the garden and view, a large bathroom and plenty of storage. The two second floor bedrooms offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside through the tall, elegant windows.

Garden View

And then there is the garden; dotted with fig, apricot, and olive trees it is a perfect introduction to the Languedoc countryside.

The sun shines all day on the south-facing expanse, there is seating in inviting corners, herb gardens and the pool to laze about.

Neighbours aren't often seen from this private retreat. The view is toward the vineyards, surrounding villages and the white-capped Pyrenees in the distance.

In fact, such a large, sunny garden with a wonderful view is what makes Maison Beaufort unique among French village houses.
